President
Ernst is a 4th year at Emory University majoring in Marketing and Strategic Consulting. To him, BSA is a space for black students all across the diaspora to come together and celebrate one another.


KYLE TRUEVILLIAN (HE/HIM/HIS)
Internal Vice-President
Kyle is a 4th year at Emory University majoring in Human Health and Nutrition Science on the Pre-Medicine track. For years the Black experience at Emory has been held up and enhanced by the presence of diaspora representing groups and organizations. BSA serves as the glue which holds the black community together. Being apart of an effort to introduce every Black person to a thriving community that will listen to its needs is everything to me.
ILIYAH BRUFFETT (SHE/HER/HERS)
External Vice-President
Iliyah is a 3rd year at Emory University majoring in Anthropology and Human Biology as well as African American Studies. To her, BSA means community. BSA means solidarity. BSA means change.


ANNE MARIE (SHE/HER/HERS)
Secretary
Anne is a 3rd year at Emory University majoring in Sociology on the Pre-law track. To her, BSA is a safe space for people who look like her at a school where it’s really easy to feel lonely. It means family, and a family that works to make the people around them better.
MARI ISMAIL (SHE/HER/HERS)
Co-Publicity Chair
Mari is a 2nd year at Emory University majoring in Philosophy, Politics, Law (PPL) and Religion on the Pre-Law track.
To her, BSA means family, community, and belonging. It is her home away from home that truly makes the Emory experience worthwhile.


MATTHEW NAILS (HE/HIM/HIS)
Co-Publicity Chair
Matthew is a 4th year at Emory University majoring in Biology and Theatre Studies on the Pre-Medicine track. To him, BSA means recognizing the injustices Black Students have faced on this campus and actively working to ensure they don't occur again as well as holding people accountable for their actions.
SONA DAVIS (SHE/HER/HERS)

Sona is a 2nd year at Emory University majoring in Anthropology and Human Biology with a minor in Ethics. To her, BSA means creating a space where Black people at Emory can join together and build a community where they feel supported and celebrated. BSA is created by Black Emory, FOR Black Emory.


CHRISTIAN BALLARD (HE/HIM/HIS AND THEY/THEM/THEIRS)
Co-Programing Chairs
Christian is a 2nd year at Emory University majoring in African American Studies. To him, BSA is a pillar of the Black community at Emory that seeks to create a better environment for the growth and success of all Black-identifying students. We hope to serve all parts of the Diaspora by celebrating the diverse cultures and people that define the Black experience.
BRANDON JOSEPH (HE/HIM/HIS)
Co-Programming Chair
Brandon is a 2nd year at Emory University majoring in Finance and African American Studies. To him, BSA is a chance to serve and protect the Black community on Emory's campus. It is an opportunity for students to uplift and support each other, advocating for a better future.


FREDERICK TACKEY (HE/HIM/HIS)
Community Service Chair
Frederick is a 3rd year at Emory University majoring in Anthropology and Human Biology. To him, BSAÂ is an opportunity to serve a community that is typically underrepresented. Being able to come together and find ways to serve the black community with other individuals who have the same intentions as himself is something that he consider to be a huge privilege.
BRANDON MAYBERRY (HE/HIM/HIS)
Historian
Brandon is a 3rd year at Emory University majoring in Psychology. To him, BSA is a place where Black people on campus have the opportunity and freedom to thrive and be themselves in a safe and inclusive environment. We want everyone to feel like they belong at Emory and like they have a community that they can depend on and look to for friendship, guidance, and leadership.


CEDRIC BLATCH (HE/HIM/HIS)
BSA Advisor
Cedric is a Campus Life Professional Staff Member here at Emory University. He serves as the Complex Director for Alabama and Dobbs Halls as well as coordinates the 2nd Year at Emory (SYE) Program. He graduated from Saint Leo University with a Bachelor’s degree in English-Professional Writing and a minor in Communications in 2017. To him, BSA is a place where Black people on campus have the opportunity and freedom to thrive and be themselves in a safe and inclusive environment. We want everyone to feel like they belong at Emory and like they have a community that they can depend on and look to for friendship, guidance, and leadership.
